• July Freedom Fest - Held annually. The 2005 Freedom Fest is scheduled for Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2. This year's festival is expected to include a Friday night concert on Mulberry Street, a dance event, Saturday morning Farmer's Market, flea market, games, crafts, a patriotic program, and a fireworks show on Saturday night at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. • Annual Holiday Lights Fair - Starting the day after Thanksgiving and continuing through the month of December (11/25-12/32), come experience Du Quoin Tourism's transformation of the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds into a magical place with lights and decorations. The event features a 1 1/2 mile drive through of over $250,000 worth of lighted displays as well as decorated trees, entertainment, food, crafts, and visits with Santa in the Expo Hall. The light trail opens nightly from 5:30pm - 9:30pm, and the Expo Hall will be open on the second and third weekends in December from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Keyes Park - a family park with various outdoor play equipment for all ages, picnic area and tennis courts. Located at Washington and Park Streets in Du Quoin.

Du Quoin Municipal Swimming Pool - Located on the west side of the city at 640 West Park Street. Open daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day. $1.50 for residents, hours are from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday - Saturday. For more information, call (618) 542-8942.
